Hal McGee and Dave Fuglewicz Synergistic Deconstruction |

|
2003
This was my first collaborative recording with
Dave Fuglewicz, who has been making some great psychedelic space
music based around the ARP 2600 analog synthesizer since the mid
1980s. Fuglewicz sent to me two CDs filled with ARP 2600
improvisations and oscillator fragments; and percussion loops and
freaky samples processed with Sound Forge, Quasi-Fractal, Coagula,
Hammer head and Total Recorder. I layered and sequenced his raw
sonic materials using chance process methods, and added on my own
sounds: Big Briar Etherwave theremin, circuit bent Casio SK-1, shortwave
radio, Analogue Solutions Tri Tone 24 synth, Radio Shack MG-1 Moog
synth, Dark Star synth module (built by Fuglewicz), Yamaha DGX-500,
and a tape we had never used of a live in-person improv jam we did
at Dave's house back in 2000. Synergistic Deconstruction is music for the mind.
When two minds are joined together in a common effort -- in this
case space travel -- a third mind arises, which becomes the vehicle
for intergalactic and microcosmic exploration. If you like Klaus
Schulze, Tangerine Dream, Cluster, Synergy, Conrad Schnitzler and
classic 1980s Industrial Music you might very well like this CD.
By listening to this CD you can travel millions of miles and millions
of years in 77 minutes without ever leaving your living room or
bedroom. Strap yourself in and get ready to travel with these two
extended electronic music tracks: "Dislocated Chronicles"
and "Synergistic Deconstruction". Leave your linear thinking
on your doorstep. Turn your mind sideways, slip through the fractures
in time created by the music. Past, present, future melt into one
continuum. You are here. You are there. You are nowhere. Before
you leave you have returned. At one moment you are reliving the
birth of life on Earth -- in the next moment you are sipping a syrupy
beverage and smoking a hookah pipe in a jazz bar in Area 59 on the
planet Roswell in the Alpha Omicron system -- out the window you
see a seductive black hole sucking up light, stars, gas, and memories
of a life you left behind, back there on earth in an easy chair,
with water dripping on your forehead from the leaky roof. Visit Dave Fuglewicz's page at Tapegerm.com Visit
